7:00-7:45 Oved Lourie, Director Data Center and The Cloud Division at Citrix
XenServer Today and Future
Oved will discuss XenServer, both as it is today and he will preview a bit of the upcoming release. If you can't make it to San Francisco for their big show in a couple of weeks you won't want to miss this.
About the Speaker
As the Director of Product Management here in the Datacenter and Cloud Division at Citrix, Oved heads up Citrix's product strategy for private cloud management products as part of their virtualization platform and has spent a ton of time with enterprise customers and Cloud Service Providers to understand how (and when) folks are successfully adopting cloud concepts/architectures/and deployments.
Prior to joining Citrix, Oved managed a very large enterprise virtualization deployment and was one of VMware’s largest users.
Citrix Systems was born from the idea of unlocking applications from datacenters and employees from the office – creating new ways for people and IT to work. Today, this is the promise of virtual computing, and Citrix is at the epicenter.
7:45-8:00 Short Break for Networking
8:00-8:45 Terry Cunningham, President and General Manager, i365
Cloud-Connected Storage in a Virtual World
Terry Cunningham, President and General Manager of i365, A Seagate Company, describes how rising cloud and virtualization use may be encouraging companies to favor “cloud-connected” remote disaster recovery (RDR) techniques that leverage both paradigms. He’ll contrast RDR and traditional DR features, including capital vs. operating expenditures, start-up and operating costs, security, maintenance, and more. Terry has a long history founding and growing game-changing software companies—most notably Crystal Services, purchased by Seagate and integrated into the company's software division, which Terry then guided through $350 million worth of acquisitions.
Terry Cunningham is President and General Manager of i365, A Seagate Company.
Terry is an experienced, hands-on senior leader with a track record of success in building organizations to realize their full potential. He founded Crystal Services, which was purchased by Seagate in 1994 and integrated into the company's software division, which then became Seagate Software. Cunningham helped grow Seagate Software, including piloting the organization through $350 million worth of acquisitions. Cunningham’s accomplishments also include serving as president and COO of Veritas Software, and founding, building, and leading two other successful software companies. Terry brings to i365 a wealth of knowledge and great strength in building teams, driving organizational vision and growth, and catalyzing business success.
Terry holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Waterloo.
At i365, A Seagate Company, we develop professional-grade on-premise and cloud-connected storage solutions for small and mid-size businesses (SMBs) and remote office/branch office (ROBO) locations. You can ensure business continuity by protecting and accessing your organization's data—anytime, anywhere.
