Special Event:    Friday May 8, 2009
Virtualization Group - Boston and the Boston Area Windows Server User Group (www.windowsboston.org) are sponsoring an all day lecture and lab event for their members and to the local technology community.  The event will take place on May 8, 2009 at the Microsoft offices at 201 Jones Road in Waltham MA.  Additional details and registration can be found at http://www.windowsboston.org/events/windows_2008_loadfest3/

The morning lectures will feature topics ranging from Server 2008 R2, Hyper-V, and securing the desktop using Windows 2008 group policy and the registry.

After a working lunch, we are offering two lab "tracks" lasting the rest of the day:
Track 1 - Clyde Johnson - Windows Server 2008, Group Policy, and the Registry.
Track 2 - Dan Stolts - Virtualization.  In the Virtualization Track, we will install Windows Server 2008 R2 RC, Install System Center Virtual Machine Manager on a GUEST machine, configure it to manage it's own host.  Then we will Migrate a virtual machine to VMM and finally migrate a physical machine to VMM. This will be a DEMO heavy series.  Bring a laptop and media if you want to load on your own laptop as we go.  We are very limited on power so first come first serve.

The cost of attending the morning lectures and lunch is $10 for BAWSUG Premium Members, $15 for others. If you wish to attend Clyde's labs (Track 1), the full day cost is $20 for BAWSUG Premium Members, $30 for others. There is no additional charge to attend the Virtual labs.
